A long-time vision has finally become a reality as Mayor Vico Sotto announced the opening of the East Bank Skate Park and Linear Park in Manggahan Flooadway.
In a social media post, Sotto described the project as a “dream come true” after extensive planning, consultations with local skaters, and collaboration with government agencies and private artists.
The new East Bank Skate Park is designed to cater to skateboarders, providing them with a dedicated space to practice safely. The local government sought input from the skateboarding community to ensure the park meets their needs.
Beyond the skate park, the Linear Park offers open spaces for public recreation, making it accessible to all Pasigueños.
Additionally, the TODA Terminal will serve as a more organized transport hub for the Pasig Poblacion Market-Pasig East Bank Riders Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (PPMPEBRTODA).
The project was made possible through the collaboration of several government agencies, including the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Office of Congressman Roman Romulo.
Various Pasig LGU offices, such as engineering, parks, and building maintenance, also played a role in its development.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, local street artists were commissioned to create murals and artworks around the park, enhancing the space with creative expressions.
